How to Achieve Your Goals

Whenever you set your goals, you give yourself a opportunity to gain success in your life because this is the most first step towards achieving something. If you want to succeed in any area of life, you need to set goals. Without goals you lack direction and live a aimless life.

Goal setting not only allows you to take control of your life’s direction but also it will give you a stronger purpose, and this will keep you motivated during the difficult times of your life.To accomplish your goals, you must need to know how to set them. Here I am describing some important points here.. First you need to know difference between goal and vision. Goal vs Vision A goal is a specific target to achieve something. It’s the tactics you use to move toward your vision or dream. You should set and achieve goals only that are in line with your vision. This is why, if you don’t have a vision, goals alone can be useless.Vision is your reason for something to do or not. Vision gives a direction to your life. It’s your desired future or your dream life. It’s the powerful reason why you want to do something in life. It keeps you excited and motivated towards doing something useful without living an aimless life. There is a big difference in your goal and your vision. For example if you say that I want to make lots of money someday. This is your vision or dream of your life.Vision is only idea or dream of life. It’s important for motivation for doing work. But its not helpful in achieving anything. On the other side if you say that I want to earn 50 k in a month from my software development job. Then this is a specific goal. Goal must be measurable and traceable the progress of your goal. Set Only One Goal At a Time Too much goals leads to starting many actions in different directions ,you’ll never finish. It leads to splitting your focus in the misguided belief that such splits are sustainable. It’s very easy to overestimate your abilities and making so many goals as a new year resolution due to lots of energy. Set goals that relate to the high priorities in your life. Without this type of focus, you can end up with far too many goals, leaving you too little time to devote to each one.Goal must be specific. Ask yourself what you exactly want. If you want save your money, ask how much money in amount? Like 1 million or 1 billion.Without a proper way to measure your success you unable to know that when you have actually achieved something. If you set a goal that you have no hope of achieving or out of your control area, you will only Demotivate and criticize yourself and remove your confidence. Goals should be relevant to the direction you want your life in every area of life like financial, spiritual or health. When you are working on a deadline, your chances of getting things done increases and achievement will come fast.

The goal isn’t to have a lot of goals in life, the objective is to have the right goals and just a few goals that are going to move you forward. You can make different goals in different areas of life. For example for your health you can set a goal to morning walk everyday for your fitness and reduce 10kg weight till year end. And for professional goal you can set a target if 5000 followers in 6months for your blog or make 5000 new customer for your product. For spiritual growth of life, Whatever feeds that soul part of you, put down some goals. Put some goals together with your partner, with the person you’re in relationship with, because it’s going to make this a whole lot more fun than maybe it would be if you just did it on your own. Make more trips or pay for family member to come out and visit you! You want to have some goals and some things you’re working on to improve your family relationships. Don’t put down too many goals. Don’t be an overachiever and put down upwards of 10 goals in each category.

The Myth of Multitasking!!

Focus on What You Can Control, Leave What You Can’t

When we focus on what we can control, we don’t worry as much about what we can’t I can control. This is a fact that its always in my control that how I show up in my relationships, but I can’t control what other people think of me. We can influence the outcome, but we can’t control it..You get to control the amount you save each and every year. Start early and let compound interest help you along the way. Don’t expect to control your investment returns or they will control you. Ask yourself whenever you feel Demotivated,Why worry about things you can’t control when you can keep yourself busy controlling the things that depend on you? So try to Focus on what you can control, and don’t waste energy on the things that you cannot. Always say to yourself whenever get depressed,Nobody can hurt me without my permission.

Scoring 100 out of 100 is beyond your control but studying 5 hour before each exam is in your control. Focusing on what we can’t control makes us less effective and potentially leads to the outcomes we fear the most. Another example you can control how good posts you write for your readers but you can’t control how many people like and follow the blog.

You can control What food you put in to your mouth not your illness. You have control on How much exercise you do but you can’t control on your shape and color of your body. You have control on How many times you laugh, cry or express your feelings ,you don’t have control on what others think about you. You have control on Who, when and where you ask for help but no control on getting help from desired people or situations. You have control on What books you read but no control on how useful that information you receive from book. You have control on How you interpret situations positive or negative but outcome is not in your hand. You have control on your level of honesty and truth you speak but how many people dislike or like this its beyond your control. It’s always on your control that How much time you spend watching TV or how much time you invest to be better version of yourself. It’s always on your control How clean or cluttered your environment is. It is true most of things beyond your control but doing right things in right way is always in your control. No matter what outcome you get.

Don’t Wait For Anything To Start on Perfect time

This is actually very nonsense to wait for 1st Jan to start a good habit. These kind of people always ask to each other their new year goals and next year they say same goals without achieving anything from previous goals like loosing weight or getting good job etc. There is no need to wait for new year or next day . you can start now. Remember you can do it Now or Never. You are always in control of your actions. Don’t wait for something big to occur. Start where you are, with what you have, and that will always lead you into something greater.Don’t Wait For The ‘Perfect’ Time, just go for it.You were about to start and then you realize that You can do it better. You stop it between and say that I will do it tomorrow in a better way. Few day passed and you lost interest in your vision or goal or idea. It could be your business idea or something about your dream.

If you are actually serious about something then everyday is 1st Jan or Monday. No need to wait for any special day to do good things. Strive for continuous improvement, instead of perfection. Do it Now. Some people are stuck in preparations for start any action regarding or towards their goal. Like if they want to join Jim then they are so much busy in buying sports shoes and clothes etc for exercise as they stuck in that things and forget what is most important thing which is exercise. Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence. It is OK if it was not perfect. The secret of lasting happiness is to enjoy the journey and never stop learning.“If you look for perfection, you’ll never be content.

Don’t Tell Anyone To Your Goals

Whenever you tell someone about your goal and they say wow what a target!!,your brain release a dopamine and your brain think that you already achieve it. Your brain doesn’t know the difference between talking and doing. When you tell them about your goals you are giving away your energy. It’s like pumping air to balloon. Whenever you tell someone how much air you blow in balloon the air goes away. So Keep your energy inside you and do the action to tell others.

If you want to achieve your target , don’t tell anyone. When people gossip about their plans to commit to a goal in public, that announcement may actually backfire. Your motivation to work hard for your goal will not be as strong as it should be. So when you are just starting out on the road toward a big goal, it is probably best to let your actions express your target louder than your words.

hide your plans from others!!

Give Yourself Negative Reward after each failure

Whenever you fail to achieve your goal, do something which you don’t like. A response or behavior is strengthened by stopping, removing, or avoiding a negative outcome or averse stimulus is called negative reward. It involve some type of discomfort, either physical or psychological. This will help you to engage in an action in order to achieve your target to avoid a negative result. Like if you did not like to spend money on charity, and you fail to loose your 10kg weight at year end which was your target then you should do charity for that failure as a negative reward which you don’t like to do. It could be anything like cleaning home when failure occurs which you don’t like to do.

Do not confuse that a negative reward is a punishment only. Remember, however, that negative reward involves the removal of a negative condition to strengthen a behavior and Punishment involves weaken a behavior.

Give yourself Some Credit

Life is hard when you think it is, but consider the possibility that you’re doing so much better than you give yourself credit for. Failure allows us to view what went wrong and instantaneously we look to the next venture aware of past mistakes or reflecting back on the previous experience.

Think about how far you come due to your goal whoever get disappointment and wanna leave the goal. Like at year end you loose 5 kg weight and you decide to loose 10kg but still think 5 kg is reduced. Give credit to yourself and carry forward your goal further. Do not get Demotivated. You learn a lot in journey to accomplish the goal. It is OK if something not achieved. You learn a lot from that thing and trying is important thing. Results is not in your hand but trying with honesty and all lessons are important. Always concentrate on how far you’ve come, rather than how far you have left to go. Most of time people focused on what they had not done, instead of what they had achieved. We concentrate on the long journey ahead instead of recognizing how far we’ve come in our continuous efforts? These all hard work efforts form the building blocks of our future endeavors. So we must learn to trust in ourselves and go ahead always.
